We are all kinds of excited about our summer production of The Musical of Musicals - The Musical!, by Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart.
In this hilarious satire of musical theatre, one story becomes five delightful musicals. The basic plot: June is an ingénue who can’t pay the rent and is threatened by her evil landlord. Will the handsome leading man come to the rescue? Each chapter is presented in the distinctive style of the musical masters Rodgers & Hammerstein, Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Kander & Ebb.
The musical premiered off-Broadway on December 16, 2003 at the York Theatre at St. Mark's and ran through October 2, 2004, for a total of 194 performances and 14 previews. The production was directed and choreographed by Pamela Hunt and featured Joanne Bogart, Craig Fols, Lovette George, and Eric Rockwell. The production was nominated for the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical (George), Outstanding Director of a Musical (Hunt), and Outstanding Lyrics (Bogart) and Outstanding Music (Rockwell)..
TH's production is directed by Leslie Bofill, assisted by Shawn Fahy, with Musical Direction by Newt Johnson and Choreography by Jessica Alexander. Michael Malone is the Technical Director and Scenic Designer. Rounding out the Production Team are Stage Manager Wanda Whitmer, Assistant to the Directors Kevin McDougal, Assistant Stage Manager Jerry Fishback, Properties and Set Dressing - Sandy Glasscock and Samantha Musto, Lighting Design - Cynthia Meyer, Make Up & Hair - Kristina Haynes & Jennifer Baker, and Producer John Hancock.
The cast includes these fine folks who will be singing and dancing for the next 6 weeks: Lucas Kiker, Claire Lindsay, Eric Kress, Gina Haynsworth, Angela Keys, Mollie Love, Zoe Bofill, Darren Bryant, Abigail Gardiner, Carlos Bofill, Mark Mitchell, Phillip Schrimsher, and Suzanne Galer.
Performance Dates are July 13-14, 19-21, 2012 @ 7:30 p.m.
